LFW AW16: House of MEA

The House of MEA is reowned for celebrating Asian talent. The House of MEA as such was a completely unique show: presenting the work of Felix Bendish and Rocky Star. Both the designers used Indian influences in strikingly different ways.

Felix Bendish.

Felix Bendish took fashion, and made it fun. Everything was convex, with a space age edge. It was a breath of fresh air. The exaggerated collection seemed to create a whimsical caricature of what people think ‘high-fashion’ is, and whilst the overall looks made us smile, the statement accessories made us sit up. The green clutch in particular stole the show with the mixture of functionality and high-fashion.

Rocky Star.

Rocky Star is a huge name in the Bollywood community, designing for over 300 Bollywood movies. The depth created by the different, corresponding colours and mixed-and-match was simply stunning. The overall look is not quite military, it’s not quite urban, and it’s not overly dramatic. Rocky Star had created a whole new wearable concept, and I want every interpretation of it!
